A big shout out to Pete and the IE team for all of the advice and awesome products to help with the above build. The last of my goodies arrived yesterday and the build will start next week...Build pics will be added during the course...

Some of the goodies going into the build: IE 2.0L stroker kit (with 2.0TFSi crank), Super Tech (valves, guides, and springs), Manual timing belt tensioner setup, timing gear dowel kit, ACL bearings, ARP goodies, etc...Car is currently running a K04-022 setup which will be replaced by a GT3076...

Also installing a SMF setup and will upgrading to LSD later this year...

Great company with bulletproof HW offerings to complement their awesome technical skills...

What is the P/N of the sender wheel on these 2.0 FSI cranks?

Mine has been on some travels before arriving with me and appears to be a little bent in a couple of places.

Unfortunately, you cannot buy just buy the trigger wheel off an FSI crank. VAG wants you to buy the entire crankshaft....

You will need to source a trigger wheel off an ABA crank.

An entire crankshaft for a removable wheel? Good old VAG....

I took the crank out of the packaging and had a proper look. The number stamped on the wheel is 050105189B. This appears to be same as the wheel on any of the following 2.0L cranks AEB/ADY/AEP/AEK (although a couple of these appeared to have 2 numbers listed). I couldn't see ABA listed but I assume it is the also the same number. Is this because you fit these wheels onto the crank or does the FSI crank use the same part?

I assume there is no point trying to straighten this one out even though it is only the edges that are bent down as circled (although probably pretty obvious...)? I.e. the face appears perfectly true.

If that's all there is, itl straighten out fine mate. We get quite a few cranks with bent wheels on them when we do engine builds at work (bent in transit like yours) just need to tap it out. Yours doesn't look mangled like ones that need replacing, looks like itl go right back into place!

Terrible that you'd have to buy a new crank otherwise :/

That was my plan until I checked with Haynes and ELSAWin which both seem to demand replacement if you even think about the wheel, let alone touch it, with removing it and then refitting a big no no.

It looks as if the wheel and bolts should only be about 15-20 quid so I may get one for good measure, but if I can't get hold of one it is good know that giving it a gentle tap back into shape is ok. Cheers

Sounds like they are just been over cautious, if you can get them as aseparate part on their own it'd be worth it just not for the sake of a new crank I guess. Will be an awesome motor once built I am sure!

yosh, you say your using k04 022 setup, is that off the s3/tt/LCR? if so, how was that fitting wise? apparently its a squeeze, what sort of manifold do you have for it?
sorry IE for being off topic.

Yeah off the S3 etc...It is an easy fit with all the OEM parts (manifold, lines, etc)...Lines into the S3 TIP were a PITA but we found a way to route everything effectively...

Entire setup coming off the car after I run the 'new' motor in; to be replaced by a proper turbo:-o

Tom,

That trigger wheel doesn't look to bad. I think you should be able to straighten it out pretty easily.

We are now shipping these trigger wheels separately to prevent this.

I grabbed a new one as it was only 15 quid or so including bolts.

Just need to find a way of getting the old one off. It went through my standard T40 bit like it was made of butter so had to order an impact one and not had a chance to try again since it turned up.

UPDATE:

PTE HP5857SP-B installed with custom manifold (due to space issues) and the IE Race Cam set and on 830cc injectors...Car made 431whp on a base Unitronic tune and on 1.5bar...H2O is over so we will be tuning further in the next week to easily attain 500whp...

IE: great products with awesome advice ;)
