hi guys, im looking for advice on how to go about changing the colour of my alloys to black.....how do i go about it?

go to b&q, buy 5 litres of black wall paint and slap it on ;)


easy enough, sand down the alloys with fine paper or sand blast them (get the laquer off) primer them with body paint (or special wheel primer) then spray with chosen colour (2 or 3 coats) them use high temp laquer to seal the paint and to stop bubbling or fade.

someone else may elaborate on that.

You would be better using an etch primer for the base coat.
Zinc based primers are more for anticorrosion properties when priming steel.

i done my wheels myself at work i went to halfords and they gave me the primer paint and lacquer for a very good price and had no problems with fading although i never used the laquer cause i wanted more off a matt finish
