Right guys I've had two PX quotes on the Cordy so far and they're talking silly money. I nearly cried when I was offered £3500 for her....

So help guys... There is nothing wrong with her I just want big power. I need help how is best to get a huge amount of power. Supercharger? 20VT?

I was quoted £7K for a 20VT transplant!!!

Anyone know how much and who sells a supercharger? I don't want throttle bodies ( Bill! ) because I have to drive her every day to work.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ask Jabbasport for a 1.8T conversion for your motor. It won't be anywhere near £7K for it. More like half that.
Add an IHI turbo conversion from them and you have yourself a 300bhp monstor cordy.

Pete,

I know how you feel mate, I had a wee shot in a Ibiza and standard at 156 is was fantastic, I went to see what mine would be just before Christmas, was only offer £4000 at a push.
I really want big power to, about 230bhp would make me happy,

Bill how much for a throttlebody conversion ?

I would go for the engine transplant,or try selling your motor privately, then pickup a 2nd hand motor from auto trader.
Some nice Ibizas. 2001 April models kicking about for £10,500 with less than 10 k on the clock. Bargin.

Or save up your pennies and get the new Leon Cupra 4 V6 2.8, when it comes of here in RHD in the summertime.Import £15299

would you really feel a usable difference in 230bhp, over say 200? I reckon mines putting out between 170-180 (despite the rolling road) and I'm very happy with that, its all usable and feels balanced in car. I've driven some highly modded monsters, including R5 turbos with big boost, and it isn't pleasant - the car wheelspins and slides everywhere and feels unsafe to use at full chat (on public roads anyway). At the end of the day bhp 'aint everything and for a fraction of the price you are looking at for big transplants you could make your cars extremely quick and useable using traditional tuning methods. Don't get me wrong 230 bhp sounds fun, but you may loose a lot of driveability. THats it for my piece, i'll take my sensible shoes off now :D

as the saying goes " no substitute for CC"
get her bored to 2100 cc and chip/cam her, 200 bhp wouldnt be far off i reckon espesh with the bigger displacement. now theres an idea!!

I'd agree with you to a point Scotty young man. Problem is I want at least 200bhp, and that's not something that's easily done and it looks like it'll cost a fortune. I found a place that sells a rotrex supercharger kit for the golf III 2.0 16v. Is that the exact same engine? If so surely that would be a bolt on job... And they quote a 50% power increase..... 225bhp... Yeah baby....

Cordys don't seem to sell, everyone want's an ibiza ( the fools... ) I'd love the Cupra4 V6 though... :D :D :D

I always though throttle boddies drank loads of fuel, I drive to work in heavy traffic and I'd hate to think of the thing gulping away in the queues...
