I know its sounds stupid but apparently Big bore intakes are illegal to use on the road and are only for track use, does anyone know why?
:dunno:
I can only asume that its cos they make alot of noise? :dj:

Ah but thats shit pipe technology!
besides the abd intake has a sticker on the tube, and also states on their website.
i can only imagine on noise grounds ?
what where when you hear that ?
mcDonalds ?
i think that'd be a disclaimer on their part incase it fails the MOT or whatever
also prolly means they can't be assed to get it TUV approved

Humm, no i tend to socialise in bars and pubs not a fast food chain.
but anyway noise is the only thing i can think of.
just pulling ya leg
noise possible but as m0rk says TUV approval
in spain for instance (france i think ? as well) you can't fit a wheel with a larger diameter than one that is standard on a similar model
i.e. if you have an ibiza 1.4 say - max size wheel is 16" as fitted to the cupra 20vt
hence i gather a loophole that started off the Mad euro craze of 13" wheels with a 7/8/9 j diameter

Same here. You need to get a written statement from Seat to the the Department of motor vehicles to get it approved..
I have one of them and the car passed the MOT last year with it on.
You are correct mOrk it is there is no TUV approval on the intake so they have to put a not legal for road use sticker on it. Take the sticker off and the MOT guys wont even look at it.

Sounds like a plan, the reason i got it was because it was half price. I think normally they are overpriced for a bit if tube :D

you should be able to get one, but it doesnt make much difference in terms of performance. Demon tweeks may do them but im not sure.
The one in the first post is available from Impossible. When I last asked they had never sold one to an Ibiza owner, and I got a sneaky suspicion it might be a LHD application. Might as well go the DIY route and save loads.

AFAIK neather ABD nor Neuspeed make any RHD specific stuff.

Do you want a professional answer from the law?!
They are perfectly legal, I am a copper in Winchester and checked with the traffic Sergeant at work today and you have been mis-informed!
Perfectly legal mate!
Jim
I bought mine from impossible performance, but it is the one for the mk3 golf as there wasnt one for the ibiza when i got it. It is right hand drive of because all the breather points are in the right place.
It doesnt really make a difference just looks nice i think.
I got a blitz airfilter then to keep the look going, and now the entire engine bay is done haha.
