Just a quick question really that I'm hoping has a simple answer...

I understand that there's many different versions of the 1.8T engine, from 150bhp all the way to 225bhp ... correct me if I'm wrong.

...but what I want to know is, what are the differences internally? Is it the same block/pistons/crank etc, but just diffferent injectors/turbo/mapping etc to get the differences in power.

Say for example I needed a new bottom end on a Cupra, could we get parts of a Golf or Polo GTI with the 150bhp version? Or would these be weak, likewise would the Cupra R bottom end be stronger?

The block used on 210/225/240hp variants has more cooling / oil channels than the blocks used in 150/163/180/190hp variants. The block will never be the issue however.

The crankshaft should be the same.

Connecting rods, pistons, intake & exhaust manifold, turbo and injectors are different in the "high power" variants.
