Right then lads,
I was just wondering now that alot of you have had your cars chipped to 180-190hp whats next for more power/torque?
Hybrid turbo?
FMIC?
Bigger injectors?
Has anyone done it? How easy is it and what sort of power/torque can you expect afterwards?
Cheers
Grant

AmD have a Golf TDI 130 that's putting out about 220bhp IIRC, so there's plenty of power up the 130's sleeve to come out after an emptying of wallet session.
Why they went for the 130 over the 150 though? Must be a reason.

After remapping I'd say work the intake & exhaust.

Thrn get a hybrid turbo and a custom remap for it. The IC should probably be the last thing to do because diesels don't suffer from heat soak like petrols.

The Golf at AMD is running a larger turbo. I think its a KO4 but I'm sure Ross (Techie) will clarify..
When I had some suspension work done there about a year ago, AMD said their Golf chipped Golf was running a tuning box too, but I dont know if its the same car...

How about fitting a VNT 20 form a 2.5 V6 TDi? Should bolt straight on shouldnt it?

What I would really be interested in seeing is a 130PD running LPG. I read about a conversion done on a mk3 Golf TDi. Makes quite a difference apparently!

The AMD is running a K04. Techie had mentioned it somewhere. The hybrid I have in the shop has parts of the VNT-20 in it. I just haven't had a chance to slip it in.

Our PD did start off as a 130. I think bascially it was it was a cheaper option and more common than a 150.

Also our PD isnt running a K04 as I was first led to believe. Its actually running a hybrid version of the original turbo using a mixture of internals, built for us by Turbo Dynamics. Coupled with the decat and Milltek exhaust it was then mapped to around 220 bhp and 350 lbft torque.

Gonna be looking at this in the future for the fabia, but not for a few years yet I think.

AFAIK the differences between a tuned 150 & 130 only slightly differ, so most pick the 130 to start off with. As you mention it's also cheaper, which makes sense. As for the hybrid, it's probably something similar to what was done on the turbo I have at the shop.

Techie what about a milltek exhaust for us diesel boys?? Is this readily available?
I've just ordered a supersprint downpipe (which also replaces the cat) but wanted something from there back.

Yep we stock the exhaust. We use the same exhaust as the 1.8T Golf and fit a four motion rear valance to you get the twin 'Jet' pipes out the back, although there is a 'discreet' option.

Q look system is £266 from CAT back

1.8T system is around £300 for CAT back

Might be able to sort a SCN discount though

Glad to hear that there is milltek system that fits Ibiza 130, I've been asking at starperformance and they weren't sure.;)

It's up on the milltek site. They seem to have a full system (from downpipe) and a CAT back system.
I really like the Q system that's on the AMD site. The discrete look is exactly what I'm looking for.
