View Full Version : Exeo front Grille
Hi
Hopefully somebody can help me with this.
My car has the honeycomb lower grilles and the slatted top grille... completely standard I believe and identicle to everyother car.
I would like a honeycomb top grille with the Seat badge, and have found something on the Seat accessory site. Can somebody please tell me if this is the part I am after of whether this is something for the lower bumper as my dealer is unsure aswell?
Seat number is: 3R0052535
Sorry can't post the website as I am new to SCN.
Thanks again for all your help
Hello M88JCp,
Yes thats the square "box" type radiator grille with the Seat "S" in it
Google 3R0052535 & it will come up. I got one on mine. Transforms the front. Fairly easy to fit. Needs a gentle persuasion to remove old one & fit new. The chrome surround off the old grille needs to come off the old & it clips on the new one. It is not supplied with the chrome surround. They are about £60 ish from Sere motors, ( subject to P & P & any price rises)
Stu
Hi Stu
Thanks for getting back to me and for the information.
I have seen the square style grille and really like it, but the grille I have seen on the Seat website is £30 and is advertised as a honeycombe grille, so I am unsure as to what it is they are selling? Am I right in thinking that all Exeo's come with lower honeycombe grilles in the bumper?
Thanks
James
Hi Stu
I've typed in the part number in google and it looks like the £30 part is a back grille in honeycombe that sticks onto the back on the factory one and there's some pictures of the finished item and some complete homeycomb conversions with the S badge deletion.. intreged now...lol
James,
Thats right. There is a honeycomb grille that does fit behind a standard vertical slatted grille. Thats around £30.
There are also aftermarket grilles as youve seen deleting the S badge. Not my cup of tea. Not sure where to get them
The Rectangular sectional grille is the Seat Sport grille, but theres no picture in their brochure. All Exeo lower grilles are honeycomb effect as standard.
Have you got any pics comparing the front grills? Does the honeycomb one look nicer?
Hello kjazz,
As I said above, Google 3R0052535 & it will come up
pictures in this thread show the differences....

OldOiler, I'm not overly keen on the standard grill which is a bit plain IMO. Can you post some pics of the Sports grill on the car? Thanks, Koops

Matt The "sport badge" is from the VW parts bin, and NO it was not std. Simlarly the red TDI badge on the engine cover is from the VW parts bin too.

It makes interesting reading in translation !!, it would appear not to be std plug and play has he has to use a dremel cutter and glue to fit !?, still not a bad job though. ......................
And another, but this time using the sport grill only:

As far as I can tell the honeycomb rear grill is fitted in and then the original grill is cut away with a dremil.
Some guys in the Mk2 Leon section have done the same
Sounds interesting..........
So, this is the JEDesign honeycomb front grill. clicky (http://www.modifiedcars.com/cars/23171/je-design-seat-exeo-st-pictures/34693) Where do we buy one from?

LOL @ the price IMO
Yeah I just found the same page but in German euros (199 euros).
Maybe I will go for the 30 quid honeycomb grill and a dremil and some glue?
Does anyone know the part numbers and prices of the sport lower grill and fog light surrounds? I'm thinking of changing to the sport grill (£80) and the matching lower grills but how much do they cost?

The lower grill, as far as I am aware is a new sportier bumper. Its about £500 +vat and painting I believe.

On a white Exeo the chrome around the grill doesn't look so nice. Saw this carbon wrap on the spanish forum. Looks good except the red of the badge.

I saw this pic on the Spanish forum (http://clubseatexeo.com/es/index.html). As far as I know they copied it from the French forum (http://www.exeo-concept.fr/).
On the French site there seems to be a grill tutorial (http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?ie=UTF8&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=fr&tl=en&u=http://www.exeo-concept.fr/index.php%3F/topic/914-tutoriel-exeo-grille-de-calandre/&usg=ALkJrhh8x4Ea8wgFdfDA2Q9wpj7VMYk6aA), but you need to register to have access to this.

I assume your asking about the Exeo.
Pop the bonet.
On the top of the grill are two plastic plugs, level these out with a screwdriver, takes some fiddling.
Then pull top of the grill foward, you have to pull a resonable amount, but also be gentle not to snap anything.
When the top has come away ease the middle out, and then pull up and out.

I wonder what that grill would look like with an alternative badge on it, say 4 overlapping circles in a line for example ... (actually I kind of expect someone to produce an Audi badge set for the Exeo one day).

Where you simply putting it behind or planning on doing the honeycone mod?
I have redone mine, but if I am honest I am still not 100% happy with it as I found it very difficult to get a nice smooth finish.
Such a shame Seat dont just do one as standard at a reasonable price.

Where you simply putting it behind or planning on doing the honeycone mod?. At the moment just behind the sports grill, seeing that the sports grill was SO expensive. I only paid £21.20 trade for the honeycomb grill - and it IS a bit flimsy and I suspect would shatter if hit with anything a bit big compared to the std or sports grill. ..............................
