Hi,
I decided on buying a Leon but I am still considering whether it should be a 2 or a 4 wheel driven variant.
Has anyone been able to compare the two cars on the road ? I think the 4x version should provide superior traction, but on the other hand it weights 100kg more and needs about 1l more fuel per 100km according to the stats provided on seat.com.
I fear that 180bhp could feel sluggish on a car with a weight of 1400kg, since my former car, a peugeot 206 S16 was tuned to 150bhp, with a weight of about 1100 kg.
Thanks for any opinions on this.

Hi. Five months ago i became owner of a silver Leon 20vt4.A friend of mine at the same time bought the 2 weel drive. The only thing a have to say is that the 4w is a complitely diferent car. Its true that needs more fuel but i think that when you 'll feel the acceleration at both cars you will realise that you can't compare the 2 cars. If you dont have problem with the higher price, my opinion is not to think at all the front weel drive model.

I heard with Seat AWD you are in advantage when accelerating on slick surface but not in general. They say the FWD version has good steering capabilities.

However I own a Cupra4 TDI AWD myselve and must say the car stays very neutral in corners. Not able to sustain mayor oversteer though. Not even able to get it at all on wet surface.

I don't assume the FWD version drives exactly alike; either more understeer or less overall grip due different rear geometry.

If you want to tune it I would go for the 4wd to get the traction. I've some mean tuned 1.8 20v Turbos in Performance VW magazine (400 - 500 bhp http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/eek.gif ) not sure what the fuel consumption would be like. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/rolleyes.gif
