Had my Compomotive Mo's refurbed this month by a company called Fat Wheels based in the Isle of Sheppy, Kent that was featured in Performance VW a little while ago.

The results are good, considering the state they were in, but to be fair the finish is a little off 'as brand new' but I'm happy with them all the same as they all 'match'

The wheels were turned around in less than 2 days, all kerbing damage rectified and the tyres were refitted & balenced at no extra cost, (twice actually as they fitted the standard type valves which stick out too far and prone to splitting and they were more than happy to replace them with the shorter stubby type)

price for a 16" wheel is £47 inc VAT includes the above treatment and will be picked up for nothing if you are fairly local to them.
or alternatly they can arrange a courier to pick a set of 4 for £40 return uk mainland.

most powder coaters wont strip the old coating off, just rub down and spray over on top.

my wheels where dipped, spripped, welded, checked for buckles and coated again

I'm thinking the same. I have 2 sets of these wheels and am thinking about experimenting with black or white painting one set.

Just realised that it's £47 PER WHEEL !!!

Was begining to think that £47 for the set was a bit cheap !!!! Dooh !!!

Will see how much I make from the sale of the house first before I make a decision whether to get then done or not !!

Just a thought, would they be able to spray the plastic centre cap on the 20vT alloys ? Won't it crack when it's taken off the wheel ?
