Bill,
I have read thru the Badger 5 website, and I must say that it does sound very impressive.
I dont have a reading of my car Bhp although it has been chipped, and to my understanding the quote of 30bhp increase can be created using gas flowed heads and new cams.
Petes thread about Cordys being less desirable for after sale has really made me think about the conversion, I want more power but was appalled at the trade in price my dealer gave me.
It may be next year, but I think I would seriously consider buying a kit.
How much time and labour is involved, and how does the gas flowed heads work ? Whats cams are recommended ?

Hello Chris.
You might want to email me direct if you want to talk further on a conversion.
The conversion is reversable which may be of interest.
The head works better when gas flowed as it can flow more due to derestricting the inlet and exhaust gas paths. The valves are quite shrouded in the combustion chambers and the exhaust ports are fairly compromised in their shape and position.
A good benefit from fitting a quality gas flowed head is that of improved torque and drivability, which is something which the 16v really needs.
Cam sets are dependant on what you would want to use your car for. A relatively mild setup of 260in/276ex would work well, giving a good spread of power and torque across the rev range.
If you want to talk more on the Badger5 stuff, feel free to email me at bill@badger5.co.uk
regards
Bill

What were you offered for yours then mate?
Pete
Just over £3500 for my Cordoba, an insult.
Now my car is pretty unique in Color and in mileage, it had 10k on the clock when I bought it, Ive done about 15k, and its a 97 P Reg. Thats basically less than 5k a year.
I would do what your doing, sell privately. I only traded in my last car as it was buggered and it would have cost me 1k to fix it and it was only worth 2k anyway.
Its all fair and well the dealer saying " Its not the price of the trade in, its the difference inbetween that matters "
Thats bollocks !!
Thank God for Autotrader
Chris
3.5k
shit i'll buy it off ya - :D
I paid almost that for my 94M 1.4 with 50k on it 2 years ago.

Pete
Well, I wouldnt trade my Cordoba in, its basically brand new, If I did have to sell it, it would go for less than 6.5 K

Yeah but try selling it.... Nobody seems to realise that the Cordoba is by far the best handling car Seat ever made..

Tried that too... Basically Seat are not replacing ( or currently have no plans to ) the Cordoba when they replace the Ibiza and have stopped production. And nobody kept stock of the Cordoba anyway so there's none left. You can't even seem to be able to get a 1.6 cordy now...
They say there is no market for the Cordoba, bollox I say. I've been into loads of Seat dealers and only one has ever had any Cordys in, and Seat took away their franchise for being too good, watch out Amythis....
Pete
pete keep the car and bung in a 20vt yourself:cheers:
