Just got my new Imperial Blue Leon 20VT yesterday... Enjoying it very much except for the fact that the car horn is very embarrassing!!!

However - I do have one problem, which hopefully some of you dealers out there can answer for me! The car is a company car and was delivered to me at work yesterday by Hertz Leasing. I got all the paperwork etc etc no problem, and left the manual and spare key with the white tag on my desk at work (We have quite a secure office). I've come in this morning, and the cleaners have very kindly picked my manual and keys up and put them in my bottom "in tray" to make my desk nice and tidy but the white tag with the immobiliser code and code for the car keys they have chucked out obviously thinking this is rubbish.

I've had a quick flick through the manual this morning, and it says you must keep this else the keys and immobiliser can not be reset.

All I can say is "arse", and what can I do about it now?

P.S. I have no access to all the rubbish that was chucked out last night as it's destroyed straight away (Confidential information and all that!)..

Stevo.

Steve,

Speak to your rental company quickly as they will need to speak to whoever supplied them the car as I doubt it came direct from SEAT UK. I believe that the dealer supplying the car get a sheet with all the details including the raido and immobilizer codes. Saw this when I picked mine up.

Agree on the horn http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/mad.gif Single tone crappy peep peep or what. SEAT get your act together and put the nice twin tone airhorns I had on my old Toledo V5... http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/tongue.gif

Don't worry, if you ever need to get new keys cut or matched to the immobiliser, your local dealer can get all the codes necessary. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif

pop in to ya local dealer and baffle em by asking them to use the "1551" to obtain your radio/key/immobiliser codes , only takes 10 mins max with the radio out/in again , while ya there get the parts guy to check ya car out @ SEAT UK as HERTZ have started using direct imports etc etc

same goes to VIRGIN so i hear ??

I've got a piece of software that can look it up as well. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif
It's called the VAG-COM tool and it's available from www.ross-tech.com (http://www.ross-tech.com)
You can also reset error codes, service indicators, etc

Flapper,

If it's OK with you guys, when the service is due I would much rather take the half hour drive on a Saturday up to you, rather than the company book it in to the dealer in Bristol...

Let me know if that will be a problem....
Stevo.
