New Forge FMIC is launched.
See piccies here>> http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1213622
Should'nt be too big a deal to mount onto Leons
Going to be better than SMIC.
Prices TBA (likely £750+vat complete kit)
Looks good, but wouldnt the fact that half of it is blocked by the bumper support have some bearing on perfomance?

Aye.... you would think so..
Same is being said on Vortex..
Bottom bit is the hot side which does get airflow. Top bit is a heatsink and return pipe.
My guess is the lower section is doing the majority of the work when in action.

Either way, It must have an awful lot more cooling potential than the stock side mount IC. So can't be bad i'd have thought.

but wont the dual pass system cause pressure loss?

A lot more cores than the one you're comparing to...
Given sufficient airflow then yea... more than likely...
For what its been designed for... K0X turbo's.... should flow well enough. Forge tested its p-loss as part of their evaluation. (I don't have any figures for this)
no pic of the temp logs though :(
It looks a quality product, personly i'd of made it single pass all the same, my limited experience in this matter is that simple things usally work better. and the expense of time and money to purchase and install systems like these its not that much more trouble rerouting/emlarging a couple of pipes to make it more efficent. but each to there own and attractive system all the same.

Significant difference between this twin pass and others... is the amount of cores that will be doing the flowing... eg. Many more on the Forge than some others around.
P-loss being quoted as none (or close to on stock boost) being an indication...
Is it suited to IHI tho? Bugger the KK i wanna know if it'll do the job for IHI :) Still not convinced SMIC can cope!

No.
Not enough airflow possible through it IMHO.
Fine for chipped up motors... but not bigger turbo motors which is a shame.
I am running stock SMIC on my Golf currently... It aint great, does heatsoak quick, but did an OK job today @ Bruntingthorpe.
Flows well enough for 391bhp (1.3bar), just does'nt cool enough.
FMIC is now priority #1 for both Mike and myself.
