View Full Version : Cigar lighter in the boot?
I've just been given a cool box for my car. These things are either mains powered or 12v via the cigar lighter. I don't want wires trailing trough my car, so I want to put one in the boot a la Golf 1V.
Has anybody done this already?
There's a round hole on the drivers side parcel shelf support, so isthat for anything in particular, or could I put it there?

I'm sure the early Ibiza 20VTs had a socket in the boot anyway. You could probably get the bits from the dealer.

I've got one in the boot, must just be the early ones as mentioned. Not sure i will ever use it!!

Its just a standard lighter socket with a flap over the whole. Will try and take a pic for you later as its pissing ddown at the mo!!!!:thumbdown :grump:

My mate and I bought Cupras within 3 months of each other - mine has a socket, his hasn't. He went to the dealer - who said that the loom was different therefore no they couldn't put one in for him.
Will you let me know if you are successful in putting one in, and to which high amp live you put it to if you do? I've now got the original bits to put into the hole but not the bottle to pick a wire.

The ciggie lighter was an option on the Ibiza, so depending on whether the box was ticked or not, you would've got one.

I got one in my boot too.
I have had the car over 6 months but only found it the other week
