Airbag Warning Light

Was fitting a new stereo into the misses Ibiza today and noticed that the plug had been disconected from the warning light. Put it back in didn't think any more of it. Now the bloody thing won't go out. It appears that it may have been disconected for a reason :mad:

Haynes doesn't really say a lot about it other then it's a dealer thing. Has anyone had a similar thing or has anyone any ideas? I suspect it will have to be a new bag unit. :(

It was probably disconnected for a reason, e.g. MOT, best to get dealer or any VAG garage to check the fault codes.

I had the light come on when i had my 97 p reg cupra it was a plastic ring that sits under the steering wheel.it can move out of place and make the light come on.

could be many things could be that the airbag itself is disconected or there is a brake in the wire.
or the airbag was off with the igntion one.
