stereo probs

hi all,
i'm new to seats and the seat comunity. looking for some basic advice.
just changed the stereo over to a sony head unit and 10 cd changer and every time i turn the car off the stereo resets. is there an esy way to enable it to stay on?
driving an 98 seat ibiza coupra gti 2ltr 8valve in kiwi.

Not to sure bout that but my made wired up my Kenwood and its cool, only thing is reception on certain radio channels aint so good, is there any way i can amplify the signal being fed into the HU?

Chewy can i ask u a few Q's bout the Ibiza cupra i have a standard 97 Ibiza but i want to cupraize it

Basically, the problem is that the permanent power feed and the switched power feed are reversed. If you swap the (from memory) red and yellow wires, that should solve the problem. Many head units have the relevant cables on bullet connectors in the head unit loom to accomodate for this, some older Sony units have a switch on the head unit that does exactly the same...

Thanks all, stereo sorted now. did have the bullet conections and a quick swop sorted it nicely. just waiting for the new cage now from halfrauds. going to fit my sony cd changer which arrived today later tonight when it's quiet. i love getting paid to work on the car ;-).
next up a set of green neons and a glowing gti badge for the front.

I think there is an aerial amplifier which no longer works if you change from the standard stereo. You need an adaptor thing to get it to switch in the amplifier with the new head unit. This was covered not too long ago either, so should probably show up in a search.
