and a quick comparision of the two :

Video Guide :

All you need to do is unscrew the aerial (anti clockwise) until it won't unscrew anymore, hold the base on the aerial by the car and wriggle the aerial side to side. If done correctly the aerial will come off and you can fit your new aerial!

Thanks for the great guide! I wonder how they can call the aerial "theftproof" as they do here.. I pulled mine off and have ordered a new one, 55mm long, looks like yours but mine is in chrome :)

Could someone tell me how long the standard aerial is??

I had a Honda one on my Leon and the threads corroded. I've put the standard one back on as the threads on after market ones won't catch, but its 40cm long I think.

Going to try and get price from dealer for Ibiza one..................unless anyone knows where to buy them?

Yeah same here, got an 04 LCR and it wont budge, i can unscrew it ok, but cant seperate it from the base. :( im going to a zoo next weekend and wanna be able to take it off rather than the mknoeys pull it off....im dreading it, gonna take my rear wiper off too, and fold my mirros in.

unfortunately the video showing how to remove the aerial mast is not available to view.
i have tried to remove my mast, just to be able to enter a car wash, but it will not unscrew by the method described.
