View Full Version : Morpheous Geodesy Review
If there is one thing we all hate about driving it’s the speed cameras that you have to keep an eye out for. We do not condone speeding in any way on this site, but what is most annoying is when you do for whatever reason find yourself driving over the speed limit there’s always big brother ready to take a snap of your number plate.

i read the review and i have read a couple of other reviews on it too. Yes, it is very good but I think it has a couple of flaws:
Firstly, its only a proximty alarm... it doesn't take into account if the camera is pointing the opposite direction to that which you are travelling in, and it will give false alarms if there is a camera on other nearby roads (eg. a road running parallel to the one your on.). Using GPS is should be easy to detect the direction your travelling in and only raise the alarm if the camera is in your direction. Note: Radar Detectors suffer from the same problem.
Secondly and in my opinion most importantly is the fact that it cannot pickup mobil Gatzos or handheld radars/lazers. I don't know about the rest of you but I know where the fixed cameras are in my area but the thing I'm most likely to get caught by is a mobile camera/radargun/lazergun (Hence the 3 points on my license!).
I understand how the unit works and it does what it does very well, but the problem is that it doesn't do what people want it to do (Or me anyway), which is stop you getting caught for speeding. Lets face it, your not very likely to get caught by a fixed Gatzo in your local area are you.
Yes, this device would be very good for people that travel alot into areas that they don't know very well (In which case you could argue that you shouldn't speed in areas your not familiar with coz you don't know whats coming up!), but for me.... I'd get a radar/lazer jammer (Yes jammer NOT detector!) :)
Thanks
Ben
PS. Nice to see a fresh review... got any others lined up?
I agree with your comments Ben, but as the latter two are illegal, I cannot promote them on this site.
