Those prototype pics got the juices flowing. Razor sharp lines, big wheels. But it's not to be after all! The racy, sporty, leading edge Altea has been dumbed down. For whose benefit? What do I know - I'm just a potential punter who wants something that doesn't look like a slice of every other mpv on the market, and I thought that it was there with the Altea. All I see is a "worthy" newcomer - maybe in the flesh it will look better, but I'm not holding out too much hope. And I thought that SEAT was VAG's sporty brand. Come on, guys - you've got a chance to redeem yourself with the Cupra version. Make sure that you do it right with this one!

Happily I read today that the Altea isn't the Leon replacement and that the new Leon is due in 2005...

Feck the Leon come facelift time SEAT and you'll have to deal with the seatcupra.net boys:mad:

Based on the prototype pics, I'd have bought an Altea. Since buying my beezer, I've got a dog. I've also bought a house so need room for the all-too-frequent trips to B&Q. But I'm not buying their production model. 'Dumbed down' doesn't come close - it's just bog-standard and what people expect for that sector.

Auto Emocion? Hmm...

maybe they are gonna release an fr or cupra version which will look more like the prototype. but in fairness i think there is only the audi TT which actually look likes its prototypes.
