Hi, I've just taken over the Managers role at Seat in Carlisle and would like to introduce myself, My Name is Alan Herring and I previously worked with Seat 3 years ago and then moved away to gain more experience in the motortrade and return in a more senior role.

My role is to make SEAT a more established brand in the marketplace here in Carlisle and surrounding areas and would love to help as much as possible and by any means possible. I would love to hear from all members in Cumbria, Dumfries & Galloway, North West and North East, who have possibly had issues in the past with Dobies or experiences that are either good or bad.

I am very customer focused and passionate about providing an excellent level of service to all and would quite happily let you use the facilities, like the showroom for meets etc or even just calling in for a brew and a chat.

Cheers

Alan

Well, im sorry but you have an uphill battle on your hands! I had the misfortune of buying an Ibiza from them and I will NEVER set foot in the place again. Under staffed aftersales dept who couldnt care less, (my radio wasnt even coded in when i picked my brand new car up!!) Dobies reputation in the area and amongst the local SEAT owners is appalling and most of us are just waiting for SEAT to see sense and take the franchise off them and give it to Telfords where it should be.

Thanks for your replys.

I have only been in the motor trade for 3 years now and have really found a career I love, I am totally aware of the job I have taken on and see this as an ideal opportunity to completely change the brand, the company, the sales, the service and take SEAT and make it a success that I feel it should be. I thought long and hard about taking the role after been head hunted, but for me it was the SEAT product that made my decision. I am under no illusion that I have a battle to build trust and confidence back and if I fail then all I can say is I tried my best and somethings you just cannot change. I honestly believe I can make a difference and change people's perception of the brand and of the company, I have the backing of SEAT upon our initial meeting and direction I want to go.

I am only too happy to discuss any issues that anyone may have, through the forum, through a pm, via email or in the showroom. I am more than happy to provide the facilities we have also. I want SEAT to be a success in our area and people to be even more proud of the product and re-assured about the service that is available to you.

Feel free to call in and tell me what you want from your dealership, what it is I can do to help. The kettle will always be on for anyone wanting to pop in and just have a chat. It would be nice to see or hear on what SEAT's we have in the area or what you would like to see available on the forecourt.

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan,

I popped in over a month ago with my ruby red mk2 leon pd140 with btcc kit. Dont know if you remember?

Just thought I'd wish you all the best! you do have a big challenge but after our chat I was very impressed and sure you will change things for the better!

FYI I've decided to keep the Leon. Your offer was by far the lowest I received, possibly something to bear in mind for the future!

Hi and thanks, I do remember you calling in and pleased you've decided to keep your Leon, I was only quoting book value for the vehicle without the kit and was a guide only. I have since just agreed a deal on a similar vehicle for book on a 07 plate 2.0 tdi Sport in Luna Grey.

We are hoping to have a website up and running very soon and also signing up to the Seat Used Approved programme so we are able to sell a much wider selection of vehicles that Seat have in stock with peace of mind to the buyer.

Regards

Alan

Welcome to the forum, don't live in Scotland so I'll probably not be of much assistance, but great to see someone with such a great attitude, and I wish you all the best in your new role!

Alan

Weve got an area specifically designed for the dealer network, please feel free to use this at your leisure.... Not everyone browses the welcomes etc, and the network area may well get you more coverage.
