Hey guys,
I own an 03 plate Seat Ibiza TDI Sport with a clutch upgrade by you, 160 intake and panel air filter and a map all by yoursleves, it is currently running around 180 bhp and 300 torque. I am on the cusp of buying a VT-3 Hybrid Turbo, i was just wondering if it is possible to fit the turbo and have you map it so that i can run it (obviously no where near its potential) without a fmic, although i have adapted the bumper to allow more air to the smic. Also do i need a downpipe and flowing exhaust just to run it? i am looking to get a custom exhaust made up to help it...and also plan to buy a front mount but just wondered if i could run the turbo and what power would be sensible to run through it with no fmic? or should i save and wait lol
Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris,

That shouldn't be a problem.

We could provide you with a map to suit that turbo with no other modifications to run around with untill you get the FMIC, exhaust etc.

Cheers

What sort of figures would be easy onthe turbo with a free flowing exhaust, 160 air intake and clutch with the hybrid??

You ideally want the fmic and exhaust before mapping the hybrid to it's full potential

I personally wouldn't recommend running it at anything higher than you would a standard turbo untill a FMIC is fitted.

Intake temperatures would become a real issue!

would you suggest that i dont put it on until i have the fmic and exhaust??
yeh the only reason i would put it on was to sell my old turbo to free up cash, but i would only want you to map it so it was safe for the hybrid

Either way would be fine chris,

You could stick the hybrid on and have the map tweaked, but im just saying dont expect loads more power untill the other mods are performed.

Hi Chris,

That would be fine.

You wouldn't damage anything fitting it before your FMIC and exhaust, but either way is fine.

Cheers

Main thing will be the exhaust to keep EGTs down.

Why would it not fit? Is the turbo a hybrid?

Yes!!!

Braders you might know...if i buy Karls turbo do i need to buy a pipe for the turbo outlet? cos the piping is different on the ibiza turbo's than a leon? or will it just fit?

Your original pipe should be fine. If you need help, I can make it fit ;)
