View Full Version : Swaybar- what VW cars are similar
Hi all,
I have just sold my 1998 model Ibiza Cupra 16V which had a rear swaybar installed.
I removed the swaybar before selling, and seeing as i am down here in Australia where SEAT is not very common i am looking to sell the swaybar to an interested VW owner.
So my question is this, what VW car is similar to the rear beam of a MK2 Ibiza (i.e can i market it as a Polo or golf swaybar etc etc).
Any input would be appreciated.
cheers,
chris
Mk2 2 golf kit goes straight on the front & the rear needs some small links which you can easily make up
it'll bolt straight onto a mk2 golf,or modified as mark desrcibes onto a mk4 vw polo
Unless it's one actually designed for the Ibiza, in which case it should be the same as a Polo4 fitment, right?

Thank you to all who replied,
I think Edc is right in saying that it will fit a Mk4 Polo as it was made by a suspension company here in Australia for the Ibiza. I have seen photos of the Neuspeed one that you guys have to adjust to fit. This one is a straight forward bolt up, it attaches to the strut down the bottom using an already available hole (tight fit).
So my guess is that it will only fit the Mk4.
Just one more question, what is the year range of the Mk4 Polo??
Once again thanks guys.
Cheers,
Chris
Can't remember teh exact date range, but the mk4 was available in 1997
Cheers
Mark
Mk4 Polo is from circa 1994 I believe, maybe even earlier. It has to be before the first mk2 Ibiza surely.
polo based ibiza was realeased in 93 iirc.till i don't know when, ibiza went to 99 using that platform:cheers:
