hey. got a chill model ibiza..

got a nice interior, a/c, 6cd autochanger climate control, all the good stuff!
got a nie ASG bodykit, nice alloys etc
quality handling.

but cos its a 1.4, got no speed. have all the crappy corsas and clios. had 120mph out of my ibiza, but want more acceleration!

i can get a pipercross induction kit, no problem, and also NOS from MJS Performance for over £700, but it adds 50hp.

what else can i get done? induction kit is great, but only offers around 5hp if that. wondering if i can somehow get something that will make the woooshing sound... like when u change gears on a turbo'd, but for my N/A.

anything upto £2000 is great. i'd rather buy through websites, so all the links will be great aswell! cheers people:cheers:

Take those subs out the boot and you'll go a bit faster!

Seriously though, there's not a huge amount you can do to the 1.4. Might be worth looking getting a cam and remap but together they will probably only give about 10BHP max.

i'll probably get an engine conversion from a mark3 golf. a 1.8 or something, even if its not tuned, i can work on it, because i know i'll be able to get more stuff for it.
i wanted to stick with the 1.4, but not being able to get anything for it means that its pointless!! so i'm now gonna get a conversion

I know what you mean as i have a 1.4 'Chill' aswell and have done a few bits Lexus Lights, K&N Induction kit which does make a woosh sound with acceleration and when changing gears. A few body mods,

Have you got any pics of car and body kit on? as im planning what to do next to mine.

Cheers

hey, i'm still in bed cos i'm lazy, so i'll show u the website from where i ordered the bodykit. i advise u to use this website, as the owner is really cool! very friendly, and emailed me wth updates constantly.

www.tuningshop.co.uk - catalog - bodykits - seat ibiza - 2001 model

its not a major bodykit, because i want the 'cupra' look. i have also ordered the front air intake from the '99 ibiza rally car.

kit contains
roof spoiler
wheel arch covers
side skirts
front spoiler
rear skirt

looks nice though. get a rae backbox on a ibiza, i love the way it growls!

how come u got a K&N induction kit? i've been on their website and its shown that they dont make an induction kit for the 1.4 chill...

pipercross make one though, which i may get

Thats cos the K&N kit was ordered for a polo (which uses the same engine)

Tuning wise for the 1.4 MPI there inst a great deal without loadsa wedge, autotest did a lowpressure turbo kit that would yield an extra 50bhp but that would cost £2500!

theres ovbious route of;

filter/induction kit,
Chip
exhuast

My car runs a custom induction system which relocater the filter from on top of the engine bay to inside the drivers side front wing with decent cold air trunking and a troublesome stainless steal backbox which has added a few horses

I am soon installing a fast road camshaft and PBV, I may have the head ported a polished, 4-2-1 manifold and other things as I have a spare engine to tinker/blow up with

just a case of how many £££ I can justify.........

whatever u do, dont bother with the 1.8 engine out the mk3 golf..it only ever came with a single point injection (abs/aam engine codes)..and although it may have 90bhp..its really flat. the multi point engine in yours will respond to a rechip better than that car. i had a mk4 Polo 8v, ( as well as a 16v), and the 8v was quicker than my mates p reg driver.

best thing to do, is shed weight, run smaller wheels ( 15s max), chip, and full system. possible 80bhp, as this engine is usually running more than 60bhp anyway. ( mine 67bhp standard on rollers)

otherwise, why not put the 100bhp engine out the lupo/arosa/polo?
its a revvy 16v lump, that pulls very well. i used to own one before more 20v, and it was as quick as saxo VTRs/Corsa sri/Fiesta zetec..just a thought!!:D

i didn't realise that i could chip it... soo

where can i get the parts i need? i dont know any place :(

websites places (near teesside) where i can get the stuff
websites are easier for me!!

i can get
pipercross induction kit
cyrogenics
NOS

i know where i can purchase these items from , but would need to know about the chip! thanks :)

If you've got 2 Grand to spend why not get a TDI - low insurance and very tuneable???

If you really want to keep the same car then get someone like tsr-performance to put in a 1.6 GTI 16v unit from a Lupo/Polo GTI, 125bhp straight away and one of the most responsive engines I've ever driven, and I've driven a few.
Failing that the word TURBO comes to mind, then you will get the whooshy sound....

hey , i'm gonna have a look at tsr-performance, see what they can do, because i'd rather spend my money on an engine transfer , then build on that, instead of sticking with a 1.4..

the engine is good though, i beat a saxo vtr last night. ok i only had 2 people in my car and they had 5, but it was a very close race.

i've got the crappy 1.4. Can i was wondering if there is any difference in the throttle bodies off the better 1.4's the 16v or sommit? Anyone?
