This isn't a SEAT accessory as such but as we all love our cars, it's not out of the question to assume you'll tuck it up at some point.

Anyway, I moved my LCR out of the garage for a few weeks so decided to invest in a water proof/snow proof car cover. All I can say is, "DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT", in the hope I save someone £60 - £70.

I purchased the Halfords Advanced all weather cover which was absolutely awful for the following reasons:

- Medium car cover, to fit small saloons and hatchbacks (pictured BMW 1-series). Does not fit, barely wide enough for the car and stops in length at the roof spoiler.
- Large car cover, to fit saloons and 'large' hatchbacks (pictured BMW 3-series). Does not fit, stops in length at the boot lid. I did not try the Extra Large cover, even though pictured with a 5 or 7-series BMW I was doubtful that it would reach under the rear bumper of my Leon.
- Securing straps are sewn on with thin cotton and look ready to rip off at the first sight of wind.
- Securing straps are located in the wrong place, right at the centre of the wheels so no chance you can use them anyway.
- Anti-scratch material is very rough and I would imagine will do a great job of damaging your paint.
- Online reviews suggest that after only a few months, the cover cracks and is no longer water proof.

Result? x2 covers taken back to Halfords and refund demanded much to the disappointment of the manager.

If you still want one of these after reading this, then for a SEAT Leon you'll need the Extra Large size although this may still not fit.

My advice would be to buy a tailored car cover, although double the price, you can see why.

Please don't waste your money!

No problem people, glad I could help. They're really not worth the money at all and sadly the only way is to buy tailored if you want a good fit and good quality...maybe take a gamble with an Ebay cover but then again it might not fit and will be a huuuuge pain to send it back for a refund.

Shane you have no chance, it'll really struggle to get over that roof spoiler of yours.

I nearly bought one of these but was warned by a mate to buy the best you could afford
I found a stormforce cover on the bay at a bargain price!

agreed mate, i needed a large cover to cover my mk1 golf and even when this was fitted it was far from waterproof. extremely bad covers and not worth £10 never mind the asking price

It's back in the garage now but I'll be hunting that Ebay for a good one in the New Year :).

Thanks for the extra feedback guys.

They have to be custom made for a "good" one.

Do Audi do a cover? Similar shape :)

I checked SEAT but they only do one for the MK2, it also doesn't suggest if it is waterproof.

I thought about an 8L S3 cover and even the ST2/ST3 Focus cover as the shape is very similar.

Over Christmas I bought a car cover for my mk2 golf to cover it from the snow. I bought a large one (thought that this would easily fit the mk2), but it was way too small, even with elasticated bungee fasteners. Totally agree with earlier post: buy a tailor fitted one!

I have a cheap one from eBay. Bought for my old evo and imprezza. fits everything i have tried. Cant remember the seller though. I remember it was listed as large car cover. It even covered the high spoilers and still fitter under the back bumper. It was about £25 including delivery. Had it couple of year now and its still in use.
