I will be getting my car very soon and one of the first things i want to do is upgrade the sound system. I'm aware of all the problems regarding the head unit in the Ibiza, so what i plan to do initially is use a high-to-low level converter to get the signal from the speaker wires of the head unit into the RCA inputs of my Amps.

I'm aware that Autoleads sell this product but have heard bad reports, so i'm staying clear of that one.

Just wondering whether anybody else has done this and if so what converter your using and what your feedback would be?

I know Kenwood, Alpine, Pioneer etc all do thier own convertors and they look much more substantial than the autoleads one. I've never used one though.

All I can say is stay well away from the autoleads one.

I know that you can get RCA-Speaker out connectors that are amplified and supressed so they reduce interference and boost the signal up to 6V! Better than most head units i belive. (my Alpine is 4V) Will find out the make tomoz.
