I've seen these too and wondered what they are/how they work.
However 20BHP for £3.99? I'm not too convinced.
No - it's bollocks
I got the value of the resistor off a complaint & ran one switched on the dyno @ stealth
it doesn't work - sorry
Mark

i bet he drinks Horlicks in the evening
carling black label i reckon
in a fat comfy chair - just search maplins accounts for their biggest buyer :p
saying that - he's probably nicking em from work ;)
Isn't this essentially the same thing as the tdi tuning box?? ie a resistor in a box!
Obviously, with no turbo to increase boost on, the gains would be so small (if any, as I reckon it's all cack!!) they would be un-noticeable.
I wouldn't trust something like this anyway, as I also don't really trust tuning boxes either. Surely there is a reason that the manufacturer squirts in a certain amount of fuel at certain temps for a reason? I don't like the idea of 'fooling' the ecu. This changes the mixture of fuel and air and therefore the car won't run at its best and you don't know the long term effects of running rich/lean.
I may be sceptical and paranoid for nothing, this is just my take on it all. I'm sure someone will correct me very soon though ;)

The low wattage resistors are a tiny cost of 7p each, or the 3 watt, wire wound ceramic case variety are only about a pound. We get people who order them in real bulk, I've always wondered what they were doing.....
