In a desperate bid to follow true to the rules of euro styling the rear wiper (and motor) of my 20VT Ibiza must go! oh and the badges, but I'll come back to those. I have removed the two bulb service covers of the interior boot trim and taken the screws out in each apature and also taken out the screw inside the very top of the boot handle, this now leaves me with X number of very resiliant clips which seem so strong as to flex the panel work of the boot when pressure is applied. Typical VW/SEAT over engineered build quality, one of the few times I have found myself cursing it! I really want to yank the whole lot out but that may cost me a new trim panel. Any one got any ideas or know of a technique or tool I could use? Also are there any horrors waiting for me once I get passed this stage? As for the badges I'm assuming they are just stuck on but I don't want to pull them off to find a locating hole staring back at me! Even though the cupra R has a different badge arrangement I wouldnt think SEAT would make a bucket load of different boots but I do want to make sure before I get busy with the bread knife.

Cheers people,

Dan.

are you on about the plastic grommet type things that hold the cover on?? if so i may be able to help, looking at a haynes manual they use a flat piece of metal with a V cut in the end .they tend to break in my experiance so get a pack of new ones incase. i lost me rag and ripped em out with pliers and replaced with new ones

warm up badges with hairdryer (not hot air gun) to soften the glue, and make sure you get rid of that horrible bloody "S"of a boot catch:cheers:

Due to a stuck tailgate I had to dismantle the trim. The plastic is fastened with some 6-8 metal clips that are VERY hard to remove. In the garage the technician had to pull REAL hard at the plastic starting from the top near the window. Some of the clips were torn out of their plastic bases, one of them was broken. We had to take out the metal clips later with a plier, and fix them up for the backworth job. SEAT should had used plastic clips as in the doors trim, not metal!
