Hi all, has anybody else had trouble with the Seat Badge opening handle for the tailgate on the ST. I am on my second one and this one has started to stick, previous one started to stick in the summer months, so I can't blame the weather. Wonder how many Seat will change under warranty! Due it's first service in March, so will be mentioning then....Julian

Hi Julianat57

I have had the same problem with my ST tailgate handle. Mine started to happen when the weather got really cold and we had all the snow. I put it down to all the crap and salt the was coming up from the road. I have mud flaps fitted but the back of the car still gets covered in sh!t when the weather is bad. No sure if a rear upper spoiler would change the air flow at the back?

Mine is also due for its first service in April. I'll mention to them when it goes in.

I've only had my ST for 6 weeks but drive it every day, 2000 miles and no problem with the tailgate handle.....so far

I haven`t experienced a problem with the handle [just nearly 900 miles on the clock] that problem may arise so I will keep an eye out for that.

What I experience with the boot is a noisy lock mechanism. When I use the remote it generates quite a loud click on first go but when I lock and unlock afterwards repeatedly it is then much quieter. I must try it with the spare key manually and see if that gives a different result.

Noticed this with the handle on my saloon over the weekend, the handle just stays 'up', and doesn't drop back down to the normal position.

Will get it in the dealer when I get chance.

Hi, had not realised that the saloon would have the same handle, but those are the same symptoms as mine, but with only a few people reporting prolems, then maybe a bad batch of handles is to blame, we will see in March. Thanks for reply...Julian

Interesting! Mine does the same and I never considered it as a fault. Since mine is taking a trip to the deal on Thursday I'll mention it.

Will get it in the dealer when I get chance. It is used on the Leon as well and should be flagged has a warranty issue and IS a bad batch. .....................................................!!
