guys i have read all lots of your advice on tuning an have seen many differern results from different people . some one out there must also have a 90bhp leon . i have a tdperformance tuning box attached ,but i want output figures and gains possible . what could i do to get every last drop of potential out of my leon cos a 1.4 corsa didnt dit far off my ass last nite!!!!!!! the shame!!
hmmm.. well theres nothing else you can do really apart from expensive stuff like uprate the turbo and intercooler for more performance.
A different box/remap might get you a couple more horses but its not really worth it.
or upgrade the car to a nice 130 TDI sport ibiza. mmmm then get that remapped to 180bhp
Ello.......
Mine is Er was a 90.... So how can I help....
Sssssstew - shame on you for forgeting me! Upgrade to an Ibiza 130.. Mmmm I think not! Tolly 130/150 or leon 130/150 yeah maybe...
Or work on ours there's plenty to do - I havent fininshed yet...

If you have a box fitted, you should leave the Corsa for dead.
Anyway, how about bigger injectors. I believe 110 TDI ones should fit.
After that, bibgger turbo & more money is needed. The side mounted intercooler should be fine but may be a better flowing one from Forge Motorsport would help

thanx for that jon , do u know if the injectors could be easily sourced from a scrap yard?? and is it a big job to fit , and also cost?? as far as the turbo goes , where could i source such a part??? would one of a larger bhp leon or toledo do????

Have a look at this (http://tdiclub.com/TDIFAQ/TDiFAQ-6.html#e3) . It's a very useful site which will tell everything you want to know (and then some!!!)

Sorry been away a few days but here goes.
First I fitted an Original Tuning Box to the 90, gave a nice wallop of torque at about 2k rpm and much more power throughout the rev range.
Then I heard about the VanAaken injector nozzle upgrade so enquired and found I could get 20% off what seemed like quite a high price.
After a few delays I managed to get up there last new year and had the nozzles fitted. Owing to the fact that the Tuning Box worked differently to the VAD one the technicians worked for a good few hours until they were happy with the results.
After that I was happy for all of five minutes then decided that as the yanks used UPsolute chips with their uprated injectors I would look into that option to get more top end power out of the conversion as UPsolute should have a program that worked with the bigger flowing nozzles. Decided that was what I was going to run with and duly advertised the Tuning Box to fund part of the chip.
After selling the box I ran with just the nozzles for a few weeks, until Simon could get down to me, and they gave a nice progressive power delivery but the fuel economy seemed to start going for the worse.
With the UPsolute chip and the nozzles finally running together I eventually managed to get on a decent long journey following a holiday then a bereavement and decided that this was about as good as you could get with a 90 before spending silly money that you'll never see back.
Never had the inclination to rolling road it but it was very very quick off the mark and not many people could keep up with it on steep hills.
Fuel economy was getting down to low forties at best but I did use the performance quite a lot due the the responsiveness of the engine now.
Managed to knock the gear selector mechanism out of line with all the torque whilst utterly destroying a racyish Mondeo away from some traffic lights on the way back from a SCN trackday at Haynes!
Had to get the dealer to realign the mechanism as it drove like shite like that.
Managed to humble a V5 170bhp Golf with this engine too but not using silly speeds admittedly.
In the end I just decided not to spend anymore money on the car and chopped it in for a 'bargain' Leon Cupra.
If I were to do it again I would go for the UPsolute chip and full injectors from a 110 TDI from a scrappy or something which would give adequate power and not too much smoke (mine smoked quite a bit under heavy acceleration) and the nozzles are quite a big job to fit (I left mine in the car when I sold it) due to having to set break pressures, whereas full injector assemblies just drop straight in.
& I got BeezerD. old Tuning Box :D

No Worries.
Do the injectors first as you can run them with the box (possibly have to slacken the fuelling off a wee bit) - you may be happy with just that, all the chip did really pver the box was give more power up the revs a bit which was what I was after as I hate changing down on steep hills (I love torquey engines) via increased boost rather than just overfuelling.
No idea what the car put out really but would hazard a guess to well over 130 bhp as I've owned quite a few quick cars and that was up there amongst them. The UPsolute program I had was quite an aggressive one but would probably go for one with a bit less smoke if I did it again.
