Well after many weeks of going into my local dealers every Saturday at 11 to see if they had recieved the key I ordered some 7 weeks ago (they now know me by my name). It appears that SEAT no longer provide the old style remote keys anymore. The type that look like a key rather then the piece of metal with a groove in it like the mk4 type. But rather then tell the dealership this, they have cancelled the order at their end at not given a reason nor a note telling htem that they had cancelled it. As a result neither the dealer nor myself had any idea that the order had been cancelled. It wasn't until they started checking the only ordering system that they realised something had gone a stray. Never mind.
Bit disappointed as it would have been nice to have a genuine key, so I am on the look out for something that will fire the remote central looking, a fob or something. Anyone any ideas? Was maybe thinking that a remote alarm system wired to the central locking would do.
So all you guys with the Mk2 remote keys DO NOT LOOSE THEM! You can not get a replacement :(
