Downside will be emissions check light as the car runs 2 x lambda probes.. 2nd one is post cat and checks on cat function. No cat, then it will light up as faulty at some point.
Upside should be a free-er flowing system.
DU02 has done this on his Leon.
Ibiza downpipe and cat are intergral....
Do Supersprint for turbo back pipe then?

Hello,
What would the power gains be with an ss decat pipe?
Jeffrey
Modern cats are mostly very efficient and not as restricting as people think. They will of course become more restricting once the engine is modified though. But even then, still not so bad usually.
High performance cats as included with a decent DP certainly wont be holding much, if any noticeable performance back.
For the sakes of keeping the ECU/engine happy, not to mention the law.. I'd keep the cat.
