The link quotes 295lbs.ft torque too. I notice they're quoting std 5-speed golf box etc, so assume they are happy to stick 295lbs.ft through it (!).

Interesting........you shouldn't have any probs with your 250 lbs.ft then?

(PS you are the only source I have for the 215lbs.ft max torque capablity for this box......where did you get the info?)

I got it from a magazine that was stating the technical reasons for VW's torque curves on their TDi's.
This consisted of the following:

TDi 115 PD 5sp = 210lb/ft
TDi 115 PD 6sp = 229lb/ft
TDi 130 PD 5sp = 210lb/ft
TDi 130 PD 6sp = 229lb/ft

The 6sp also has a max torque rating by VW, but I can't remeber what the figure was, either 240 or 260lb/ft I believe.

UPsolute also claim figures higher than the VW rating, but it doesn't bother them either...
