Has everyone else noticed THIS THREAD (http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/Forum21/HTML/000076.html) ???
and noticed the comment about the new Leons coming with a different exhaust system !!
Can anyone shed any light on this ??

SEAT are now putting a different exhaust system on Leon Cupra's - much sportier with more grunt - just been told by dealer who is replacing my current Leon Cupra!

Will we be getting the sportier sounding exhaust on the EU import 20VT Sport Leon??? Or is this something done by Seat UK on the UK Sport/Cupra model??

when did they start putting these new exhaust systems on to the cupra's?, i brought my one in may, think car was built in april 2001, do you think my one will have new exhaust?

The new 'sounding' exhaust system was introduced on the 2002 model. I had this confirmed by Seat UK a while ago when I was checking what the exact spec was, before ordering mine from Holland.
I tried checking with my Dutch dealer to see if the Dutch Leon 20VT Sport had this exhaust system but he didn't seem to fully understand my question, probably the way I asked it.

I think the 2002 model started coming off the production line sometime in July.
As you got yours in May I'm think you'll find it is the 2001 model.

I own a silver 20VT 4. The local Seat dealer recently bought the same car and he changed the exhaust with the sport exhaust of the Leon Cupra (2.8 V6 204hp). I saw the exhaust which is look like the normal one but is made by "Remus". They told me that gives about 8 hp more. Thats all i know!

any obvious way to id the exhaust, given that if you di not know what te old one sounded like yo udo not know if the one you have is new or not

find out from local dealer, my car is a 2001 model cos, has 01 in vin plate, if 2002 model has 02 in vin plate, also complete exhaust system is different on the 2002 model, if you look at back box on my one (2001), the box is rounded, and 2002, is flat.
i asked dealer if new exhaust made any change to power, he made a few phone calls, and found out, no change in power, only change, more sound.
