Ive been playing with the idea of cleaning my engine as i want it in tip top form. The problem is, cleaning an engine bay may be one of the worst jobs on the earth!! i hate it!!!
Would a steam clean be a good way to go or is it bad for the engine? If so (bad for the engine), whats the best stuff i could use one my engine bay to get it looking as clean as possible. Ive heard Gunk (prob spelt wrong!) is the best thing going. Is this correct. cheers

When a garage was investigating an oil leak on my MK2 they steam cleaned it, looks lovely but has got into the throttle cable somewhere and now sticks on ocations.

pull the cable off at the engine end - see if it sticks still

if it does WD40 down the end of it works a treat

or stop being tight and fit a new one :p
