Hi

Has anybody had an ECU re-map done by a Seat dealer. I spoke to the one in Coventry and for £600, I could expect a 30bhp gain to about 180-190bhp total power output. Forgot to ask about torque. I'm aware that for less money I can get a re-map from someone else. Would I be better to go elsewhere?

Also, had a problem last Xmas day, of all days. Between 4000 & 6000 rpm, in every gear, the engine misfired slightly and hesitated. The first thing I did was to adjust the actuator on the turbo back to factory setting just in case. Trouble is, the problem cleared itself up after a couple of days and is fine now, so I never got to the bottom of it. Does this sound like the begininning of any common fault that anyone is aware of?

Ta.

Seat Ibiza Cupra 156bhp.

Had a discussion with my Marshalls in Bedford the other weekend, they say they use a local guy from a company called ADM (not AMD), but said it cost £400.

But I wouldn't go with a company I didn't know anything about as he thought ADM were a distributor for superchips!

I would go with Jabba, Revo or AMD as they are well known on tuning VW's, Seat's etc..

For £600 you could get Jabba upgrade with Boost controller etc... I think?

Thanks.

Any ideas on the engine problem?

The stutter could be coil packs failing... starting to at least.

i was going to say coilpacks, but also it could be MAF sensor, i thought i had another coil going but it turned out to be the MAF...

Thanks chaps, I'll keep my eye on it. Hope it is something as simple as that anyway.

I read somewhere that the standard boost is 7 psi. Does anyone know what the standard fitment turbo is, and what it can boost up to?

Also, considering buying an induction kit as a starting off point for mods. Any recommendations? I've always used K & N.

Cheers.
