View Full Version : Random suspension questions
I am considering buying a 16v Ibiza. Is the suspension the same between 8v and 16v? I,e, could I put the standard 16v suspension on to my car by simply transferring the struts complete without disassembling top mounts etc?
Do coil over kits come as assembled struts, or do you still have to assemble the strut/damper/top mount?
If I mark the current position of my camber settings, and then adjust for maximum camber for a track day, and then align it back to road settings using the marks I made is this going to be accurate enough or would I need realistically to get it properly aligned each time?
I am also considering a coil over kit so I can make it really low for track and higher for road use. Will the lower settings on track be of much benefit?
Cheers.

Dont think so

It wont be miles out, but it wont be knob on

Of course, wont like crap roads tho, you could change the settings for road/track use but thats a pain in the ass, just find a comprimise:)
steve my camber has been set by "eye"no trouble with handling or tyre wear.i will get round to getting it set up one day;)
thats the pikey way of doing it:p
fitted my sprintline kit like that the first time round, handeled great with no adverse tyre wear
then had it alligned on a 3d laser machine & it handeled even better.....

Is it that much of a pain to adjust coilovers?
I will probably just get some Eibach springs to go with my Bilstein dampers and hope that will be a good compromise. I think I need new top mounts as I get a few clonks over potholes, I was just pondering whether a coilover kit would solve all my hassles.
16v is a no go now, so I will continue buying stuff for my car.

Dont think so, IMHO if i was going to adjust it for track use then readjust it for road use, height wise I'd find that a pain in the ass if i wqs doing it regulary
