I haven't done much, I'm more into getting it up to scratch with mechanics, getting the power up and maybe a couple of subtle mods. The mirror sounds like a good idea though:)

its great really easy to install as well just tapped into the interior light 12v and ground. ummm think its a mirror from an E36 BMW, there are loads on ebay round about £10
Hello, good to see another TDI owner here. Theyre good little cars. Lots of fun after a remap too :P.

oooohhh havent even thought of that, seen these "tunning boxes" you can buy that simply plug in and go they say. Not so sure tho and at £130 not worth it doing something i dont want. What are the remaps like and how do i research them? ive got the 90 BHP model.
Tuning boxes are a bit gash and should be avoided generally. Although I have one you can buy if you really want it :P. A remap achevies the same and gets you about 30hp more. Simone coe from ccctech is good for these older tdi's. But a remap will cost more like £200.

A remap is far superior because all the tuning box does is throw in extra fuel where a remap tunes the whole system, more fuel, boost characteristics, timing etc. If you have a pd engine the stage one revo can add between 35 and 50 bhp.

i have herd of REVO as i used to work for a car garage who did the REVO tuning but i wasn't involved in that as my job was strip and fit lol. i will have to contact the garage and find out how much it will cost for a REVO.

They're down to about £200 + vat at the moment because of price cuts or something apparently. Check out their site and see if your car is listed.

Just had a look and it seems my car in not listed i think thats because mine is a NON PD engine. i noticed that they only list PD engines
Revo don't do the older cars unfortunately. I learnt to do mine myself but it took 6+ months of late nights and head scratching. http://www.ccctech.co.uk/ will do you a good reliable map for around £200. Jabbasport should also be able to do it too.

They can do some of the non pd engines too but not as high a gain, about 115-120 for a 90bhp. I'm talking with a tuning company at the moment about getting mine done but it depends on your ecu. I've got a company about 40 miles down the road so it makes sense to give them a try and see what they can offer.:)
