Just a small note reference all SEAT/AUDI/VW/SKODA dealers

if any of you are experiencing parts supply problems for any of the above PLEASE don't dismiss the dealer themselves as it is currently not their fault , it is due to the fact that the main VAG group parts warehouse's stock is currently being transferred to a new building and as such with the delays and low stock levels TNT have literally been delivering half of the parts ordered , add to that the low stock levels which in turn increase back orders and dealers re-ordering lost or undelivered items it is one word SH*TE for dealer parts departments @ present , and as of today ,since new year i currently have 68 parts on backorder and 48 still not arriving , thats over 100 parts in 4 weeks that i am STILL trying to supply or obtain ,which unfortunately means a HELL of a LOT of unhappy trade/retail customers , looking at guys who to be honest have and have no way of getting , any answers , this isn't an excuse , just the fact that it's not all good @ present :(

PS : i have heard a rumour of 1 suicide today (YES it is getting that bad) :( so my heart goes out to all if it is true :( and to the rest of us glorified shelf stackers , LAUGH OR CRY just bear with it guys , CHIN UP

found that out today when i went to collect my rear metal splash guards that u helped me with, the parts guy was in such a disorganised state he gave them too me thinking i had allready payed for them when i had'nt.

the honest and noble guy that i am admitted i had'nt payed and coughed up the doh.
could of saved my self 35 odd quid tho........

also the alternator belt pulley adjuster need replacing on our alhambra cos its flapping about (no pun intended) when it went in for a service and they cant say when the new part will arrive....

We did not receive any recall whatsoever

the part has'nt been changed cos the part has'nt arrived yet due to the the relocation of the VAG parts centre.

when it does come, Ive got the job of replacing the part............

Maybe a good idea to see if yours is on the recall list, then it's up to SEAT to do it for you

as flapper has said the parts supply is very bad !

i spoke 2 seat uk 2day and the poor guy up there who deals with the pdr's (missing parts, etc) has got the biggest stack of paperwork imaginable.

at present i am missing approx £2000 worth of parts, times this by the approx 100 dealers and u get a big sum.

when i sit here and think how stressful my life is at the mo (1 guy runnin a parts department) i cant begin 2 think how busy seat uk r.
more peeps but over 100 dealers all missing parts.

2 any1 waiting 4 parts it will get better !!

it cant get any worse.

and to add :

The VW group apologises for any inconvenience so caused by the present parts supply situation and can state that it is doing its utmost and utilising all available resources to enable a speedy rectification to the unfortunate circumstances, all systems will be back to normal as soon as possible ( TOP PRIORITY ) any good ? ;) MR M ?

Stu - Get this -

Seat Letchworth "supposedly" renewed mine in JAN 2000 under the recall.

However, when collecting the car in DEC 2001 from a 40k service, the Service guy says to me "We've done the alternator pulley for you under the recall"

"It was done 2 years ago by yourselves" I reply.

"Well, the old one was still on the car" he replies.

I asked him "Whose taking the piss here?"

I don't use SEAT Letchworth no more! (I use Cheshunt now! :p )

Brian the saga is taking yet another twist,.......

me dad phoned Seat uk today about the recall and they have No record of any recall concerning alternator pulleys! the only recall on their records was for the brake fluid resovoir that was letting in moisture on bammers between 98-99 our one was after this......

have you got any record of this recall at all? cos me dad is not amused at the mo cos the the air-con keeps blowing fuses....

the saga continues..............................................
