View Full Version : Stock Ibiza inlet Snorkle-Airbox feed

I have posted a picture of the stock inlet snorkle from the Ibiza's airbox and compared it to the BMC induction hose.

Stock box inlet is approx 35mm x 50mm Oval.
BMC is 80mm diameter.
Side by side the difference is quite apparent.

Nice big hole now.
all you have to do is stop braking so you can have some cold air in the wheel arch!

Hi Bill
Myself and vince ran the BMC filter on our Ibiza on Monday- it didn't really make any more power, but held the peak power that tailed of at 5500rpm for another 300-400 rpm. I was impressed. What surprised me more was that it showed better gains when fiited back to front!! Vince had also found this when installing them on the VR6's.

Thats funny.. I wonder if BMC know this :D
Breaths better outside in than inside out.
On my datalogging the BMC and MAF airflow showed less airflow than in Dec when I ran stock box and datalogging a full power run. Not conclusive as I have'nt run standard datalog for this recently. Block #120 figures showed lower power, down in the 170 bhp zone than in December. Poorly motor and or BMC not working as it should.
Hurricane yet to be received and tested.
At least it all bolts on and off.
