View Full Version : Loss of power and DV
Well, i took off my forge DV006 yesterday to take it apart and clean it, but didnt get it finished in time so put back my old platsic bosch one for my driving today and WOWEE !!!!, my car has got all of its lost power back!!!, it feels like it did when i drove it away straight after my upsolute chip upgrade!, and the lag that i have been suffering lately has mostly gone again!
Looks like either the DV was sticking open slightly, or wasnt opening fully fully when it needed to 'dump',
Once i have cleaned it all properly up i will put my forge one back on and see what happens!
I might try that as well, I've been a bit suspicious of my Forge DV for a while now as well.
Did you change the spring in your DV006 when you had the chip upgrade?
Nope, the DV006 is supposed to be good for 300Bhp!
When I bought my DV006 from RSD Darren asked me weather my car was chipped and if it was I would need a different spring in it, so I assume that although the dump valve is good for 300 bhp it might need different springs for different power variations

I spoke to Forge last week and asked what their spring pressures were rated to boost wise. 2 Bar was their answer, so the DV006 is OK for 2 bar boost.
Should be adequate if they don't stick.
Bill
I take it that heavier springs are available otherwise Darren would not have mentioned them. Ah well if the standard one is good for 2 bar , that should do the trick. Wonder why I was offered a different spring for my DV006
Sounds like i need a different spring in mine then,
Although it is putting the piston down off centre and has really scraped up the piston seat quite badly, and it is still sticking intermittently so maybe i have just got a faulty DV006?
Mosser it sounds a bit dodgey to me
I have had my DV006 on the car for about 6000 miles now and it seems to be fine at the moment (not many miles yet) and I have never had to touch it
It does, although mine has got aver 20,000 miles on it now so has been used for quite a bit longer, when i get my car working i will have another look at it

I was going to try and fit a "A piller" mounted one to keep the dash clear,
Going to order it through demon tweeks this week.
Plus got a whole month to get it fitted how i want it!

Steve, im going to do the same thing, get a A pillar pod and fit it in that. My local bodyshop is gonna paint the pod using textured paint to make it the same colour as the A pillar.
Speaking of gauges, I havent found one that looks like the other clocks in the Ibiza. Has anyone else got one that looks similar to the standard clocks, and lights up similar to the standard clocks?
If so what is it, where did you get it from and how much was it?
C ya..

Go here to see the one ive ordered and the one mosser has.
all the info you could want!
Thing is, it looks nice, but it does not match. You need to get a black background and get rid of the white background to the dial to completely match. If I ever get round to getting one that is what I would like.
didn't want 2 start a new thread so i thought i'd ask in this 1.
which dump valve do people have fitted 2 their cars ?
the DV006 or the DV007 ?
and what r the advantages/disadvantages if any ?
thanks

It does match my car perfectly! (Ibiza)
What about the Leon? Does anybody have one that matches the dash/dials (ie black case with black background to the dial)

What does the auotmeter boost guage look like at night? Does it light up similar to that of the standard clocks etc in the Ibiza.
Mosser would it be possible to take a picture of it at night to see what it lights up like?
Cheers....
Afraid not, i havent got the wiring connected up at the moment, i dont really need to see it at night anyway, too much to look at then!
