I was looking at andy's March 04 calendar wallpaper whilst obviously having too much time on my hands... ended up coming up with this :p

Here's my opinion on it....

The prototype lloked like an agressive hot hatch that you could stick a few kids in. The production model likes like any other shite mpv. All the good bits have been binned and left a boring looking car.

much agreed, big dissapointment....

....but still looks much better than pretty much any other mid size MPV (Personally, I quite like the new Scenic)

i agree with ya there m8 - but you wouldnt wanna own one

first release models are getting more warranty issues than the laguna 2 and they take some beating believe you me

you think SEAT are a little niggy with coil packs and leaks - try Renault

not only coil packs (10* as many)
brakes locking solid @ any time :(
turbos blowing every 5000 miles
usual leaks inside side windows
headlamps shattering (xenon models)
EPC light/limp mode as soon as engine overrevved
alarms faulty

not all on different cars - seen these all happen to cars 1 fault after the other - regular visits required ;) even ran a book on some of them and usually right within a week or two

On the build quality of Seats,I put in a suggestion on doing a survey on here to see how widespread the water leaks and coilpack failures ETC are.I had my share of the former with my last Ibiza .

 I read just today, green cars are worth much less on the secondhand market . Red is the most popular esp with women for some reason.- seems more important than condition- So if you buy green I wont be GREEN WITH ENVY. Mines Red!

Nah red fades with the sunlight..

Green has depth, as is unusal on Seats.. (I'm mean how many do you see!????)

Andy B - U & I both know someone who is currently enjoying the delights of Renault - He smiles at the reliability of them. Gear box changes, Engine rebuilds, trim replacement's to name a few of his usual jobs!

Bet he's busy then :)

btw, brother in law use to be a AA patrolman around the time the Laguna2 came out. He reckoned he'd been out to 20 of them within a month of launch. Mostly Electrical bits, IIRC the key code entry thing was the most problamatic.
