I'm thinking about buying a 1.4 Sport (85). What sort of real world MPG's are you getting.

Thanks

Matt

not the 1.4 but my 1.6SC gets nowhere near the manufacturer stated.

mainly motorway driving with a bit of town driving and the trip says I average 36mpg. and thats mainly sitting at 65/70 mph! however i only get 320 to a tank so thats more like 32mpg...

have taken it to SEAT to ask why its so low but they just say its my driving style. dont see how I can be more conservative to be honest but hey. only a few months till i get my FR TDI :D!!

My TDI 130 sport (205bhp /380ftlbs) does an easy 50 + mpg on a run with a tank range of 500- 600 miles:D

I normally average about 45mpg overall. Can get up to 50mpg on my commute (mostly motorway). Most I've ever seen is 58mpg on a slow drive up the M1.

Worth noting there are a couple of variants of the 1.4 85ps, the earlier cars like mine are EU4 complaint but the newer ones are EU5 with lower co2 emissions and better mpg... on paper anyway.

The best I get is 36 and that's going slow. I find the car very heavy hard to move and especially when any slight hill is involved

They do seem to have a few flat spots in the rev range, since mine had a software update last month I've noticed its got worse, had quite a few scary moments at busy roundabouts/ junctions when I've tried to make a quick pull away and the power just isn't there.

Your MPG should definitely be higher though! Is it very low mileage, maybe the engine isn't run in?

It has about 6k on the clock. Drives fine on the flats. Appalling up hills. I have to drop it to 2nd gear all the time. Thought It would be a bit more punchy for an 1.4 would have had a 1.2 had I known this.

Cross posting from the fuel/mpg info thread but managed 65.1mpg today, pretty good for a petrol me thinks!
