[ start rant ]
I now officially hate VW & Seat for making a special nut head for the sump plug, it's bang out of order not letting owners change the oil themselves grrrrrrrrrr.......
[ rant over ]
Does anyone know where i can get one of these special shaped tool heads ? its like a socket head bit with a small circle bit in the middle to stop us using a solid square bar.
Much obliged.

I don't know but it may be to stop users for a reason..
the leon sump plug is a known weakspot..
any slight overtightening when replacing results in the plug getting jammed or the tread being stripped..
by making it dealer only it should mean no one has a go at retightening without a torque wrench.
If you are using synthetic there shouldn't be any need to swap between services anyway I wouldn't have thought..

Cheers mark, yeah i understand that.
It's semi synthetic Castrol 10W40 the dealer uses for it, and so i bought Magnatec thinking i'd get a sneaky precautionary oil change between the between changes if you know what i mean.
Looks like i'll have to call them and pay them £30+ for the 30minute job, or wangel it free since they seem to have broken part of the undertray and lost 2 screws, and ingeniously used longer cross head screws instead :(
Remeber i'm on FCM @ 15k miles / year so i don't get it changed by them until 10k done then the anual one at 12 months.
Sump plug on my TDI is a std hex
Sure you can't get to it with a "long reach" style socket?
3 forward undertray holes are longer x-heads as opposed to torx.
nothing out of the ordinary
that is for a decent tool kit
you wanna see some of the shapes / sizes some come in

mik : it's actually like a socket head instead of a bolt. Tthe outside is round and the inside is like the socket head, and has a bit in the middle to stop you putting a long bolt head or square bar in it (wish i'd taken a pic now)
Decent tool set, ermm.. yeah i have and its not got anything like what i need unfortunately :( Do you know the style of bolt head i'm talking about ?
 leo can u post us a pic of this, mucho interested in mid changes for the reasons you have already stated, diy on cars getting made harder and harder:mad:
