My 1.6 SC sport

hey,

Does anyone know of any problems with the mk5 Ibiza SC sport 1.6.

i am currently trying to part ex against a car from a different marque but it has outstanding finance. the marque I am buying form cant sell it as they dont specialise in second hand cars so they are trying to get an underwrite from local SEAT dealerships.

however every dealer they have rung so far has been happy to take it off his hands until he says it is a 1.6??? anyone got a clue as to why this is??!!

Hmm, hope you sorted out your problem - it's been a while since you posted. I don't know of any issues with the 1.6 but (assuming yours was a 1.6 sc petrol), I wondered whether their reluctance was due to lower mpg than 1.4s and higher CO2 emissions. Combined, these factors could affect popularity and therefore speed of resale. Might make dealers reluctant to buy if they think they're gonna be stuck with a car on their tarmac for a while. Also, i wondered whether dealers were more keen to get their hands on one of the newer engines in the ibiza range - e.g tsi. My guess would be that they would probably sell faster than the basic 'entry' ones. Doubt they'd be too many 2nd hand yet though. Anyway, just a thought...
