ok, ive had a full Magnex exhaust fitted to me motor (Mk2 Ibiza 16v) for about 5 months now and the rattles on my car have been that bad theyve drove me nuts!!!!!
Ive had the exhaust removed, re fitted, back bumper cut etc etc and no matter what ive done the bloody thing has caused my interior to rattle like the clappers.
Anyway, i managed to find the majour problem - my handbrake. The vibrations caused by the exhaust were getting that bad the handbrake would make the most annoying noise ever, this happening at 4000 revs and being a 16v the car is uaually run through high revs!!! Ive had the interior out, screwed tighter you name it ive tried it!!!
Here's the way forward - BLUE TACK!!!!!!
I know this sounds daft but for all you people out there putting up with this problem try this!!
Take your handbrake gaiter off,get a full packet of BLUE TACK 25% free at the mo WOO HOO!!! and place it down the top of the metal part so that it joins up to the handle.
Leave the plastic on the other side so it doesnt go all gooey when its warms up and sticks to the gaiter and HEY PRESTO!!!! your car does not vibarte at all!!!! I can now blast it around and no rattles no nothing!!!
Sad i know bit i had to find a solution and it was a simple as that!!!:D
