Misbehaving front wipers- HELP!!!!

My front windscreen wipers work everytime i try and use them, however they dont turn back off unless I spray water on the windscreen to over ride them , this does not work everytime.

From what i can gather this could well be a problem with a relay, what I cannot work out is which relay and where it is located (Battery relay case on with the fuses)???!!!!!

Any help would be really greatful as the MOT is in 3 weeks time.

Its your switch assy mate. The stalk is at fault. Common enough problem on the mk3's. Get hold of a new kit, fit it, and charlie's your uncle...

I had a similar problem, and a new wiper switch/stalks sorted it out. Also had a new wiper motor for good measure, fine now! Good luck!

i dont know if it helps but ive litterally just fixed my wipers about 2 days ago and i tested the relay and it was fine so i break cleaned the switch then used the air tap to blow it out and now it works :S stupid but so far so good :D
