hey, i was wondering if the black side strips down the side of my 1.4 ibiza are just stuck on by adhesive/glue??
if so, can they be taken off without leaving a mark?

thanks, but ive already debadged, its just getting the black stripes rom the side of the car. i want to take them off, but i need to know if they are just glued in place.

Thats strange as my Ibiza Chill never had the black bumper strips down the side.
which is good as would have taken them off i feel as like you have de - badged it already.

well i've decided that once iget my car back, i'm gonna take the stripsoff, i just hope they are only glued in place :confused: :confused:

they should only be glued in place. on most newish cars they are only stuck on.
well thats good :) i'll give it a go anyways, easy enough to replace them if it goes wrong.
i'll getback to you with my results once i get my poorly car back

Hey,
I got the side strips on the car, yea there just stuck on with a sort of glue. The quy at my local dealerships says if yiu want to take them off you got pull them off gentle starting from the edge. But slowly as you might take a bit of the paint work off.

i'm gonna use the same method that i did for debadging to do this.. but i'm gonna heat the strips alot more are there is a lot ore glue.
Check this link out, I've removed the ones on my Mk2 that were fitted by the previous owner. I still have to remove the difference in colour created by the strips. I just need to get my hands on some "body wipe" as used by spray shops. Apparently you wipe it on, then use a heat gun (hairdryer) and it removes the "grease" from the paint.

i had to get my car t-cut after i put the body kit on, cos it looked stupid, the bodykit was sooo bright!
well i got my car back, and took the strips off the side. came off a treat! one problem though.. on the driver side, there seems to be a a faded part, where it looks as if they have neglected to paint it, like it doesn't have as many layers as the rest. not very noticable anyways. i'll get pictures tomorrow if i remember :)
