Was driving round a roundabout last night (not sure if significant) and the ESP light came on the dash. I pulled over and looked in the handbook. It aparently means there is a fault with the accelerator pedal!! Great, felt perfectly fine though and in about an hour or so it went out and hasnt come on since. Should I be worried or is it probably just the cold weather making the system a bit confused (it was about 1.5 degrees at the time)? Any ideas?

find someone with VAG COM to check for faults for you. save the trip to the dealer.

Hi There

i had this same problem when i changed my rear lights a few months ago, was well worried like you after reading the handbook, but all it was in the end was a faulty brake light sensor that had blown when fitting the lights.

That sounds a bit coincidental mate cos I fitted some Lexus style lights last week. You reckon that might have done something? The light hasnt come on since.

Hi There

thats what mine was to do with, as fitted the Lexus lights on a sat morning and that night when i was driving home from the pub the ESP light came on then after that every few days would come on and then go off, took it to the garage and all it was a brake light sensor that had shorted out, they replaced it and the ESP has not come on since, mite be that, i would check with you local SEAT garage.

hope this helps as i know after reading the manuel i was well worried!

Did the dealer replace the brake light sensor under the warranty even though you'd messed around with the lights?

On the subject of the lights, I bought orange bulbs at the weekend and the little sticky out bits at the bottom werent on opposite sides exactly so they didnt fit perfectly. I jammed them in anyway, anyone else had this prob?

You should go and get the chrome bulbs for the rear idicators as you don't see them then. Looks better, I got a set from south coast wheels for a £10 with opposite pins.

Hi

Yes dealer replaced the sensor under warrenty if though i had changed the lights and fitted under car neon, which was good.

Hi,C3 LJG does south coast wheels have a website? if yes can you post the web page link, if not do they have a number to contact? i have seen the chrome bulbs at a few car shows they look pretty good.

i'm hoping that mine is still under SEAT warranty, but if the problem is caused by the induction kit or NOS then i'm screwed. This problem was happening before i fitted these, so hopefully its nothing to do with them.
