Just bought a 2.0ltr 8v Cupra Sport 98 model. Need some help modding it thinking of a strut brace (front) and a stainless cat back system and a panel filter swap.
My look at other mods but depends on finances. Is there anyone out there who can Help. Will post pic's soon.
Also the car makes a tick\tapping noise from OSF under braking. The braking is not affected though any ideas?.

IF ur thinking about a full cat back system go for a for a good make, Magnex, Scorpion etc etc, however you mite get problems with the back bumper (may have to be cut) and vibrations causing BAD and i mean BAD rattles in ur car!!! my exhaust has drove me crazy over the past few months BUT i finially found them and corrected them = no rattles + mint sound n looks!!:D also noticable performance gains that was a BONUS!
Air filters - good makes again BUT make sure you get a good cold air feed to them or performance will go down as it will only suck more warm air in - cold air has more o2 blah blah blah!!!
Best + cheap interior mods have to be Richbrooke stainless steel 1ns. The gear surround and handbrake look mint, also check out the post for crome door handles on this forum, i think there off a polo, easy to fit, cheap and look great!!! good luck!
Exhaust/back bumper not a problem.
here's how I did it:

The chrome handles link was posted by me :) and here it is:

A word of warning about the richbrook handbrake handle. They get f*ing cold in the winter!! Mine is.

Spent Hrs looking for an exhaust only find twin round or large oval. Looking for smaller oval or twin squared pipe.
Any ideas on my braking problem
Sorry no ideas on the breaking problem, but i do have a 99 Cupra Sport and the only mod i've done is a K&N replacement panel filter, which i can honestly say gives no noticable performance gains whatsoever.
And wtf...cold air has more O2?! I'm no physicist but i doubt this statement is factual.

Honest bud!! cold air is more dense than warm, therefore richer in oxygen!!!! Therefore if you slap a nice open cone filter to ur motor without a cold air feed it hinders performance as it sucks in more warm air - lower in o2 and therefore decreases performance!!!!
If you dont believe it bud - look into it!!!!

look into the physics behind the Viper induction kit by Pipercross - has a cold air feed to the bottom of the car - the filter itself is surrounded by a carbon fibre shell - this repels heat from the engine and allows the filter to suck more cold air in!!!!
Why?
Ans - cold air is better than warm! Resaons being richer in 02!!! :)
sorry if it seems im trying to be cocky im not!!! i didnt really believe it at first but once i looked into it i learnt!!! Maybe thats why youve not noticed a improvement in your air filter!
There was a post on modding a standard air box on the site a while back! look into it, i think it improved performance quite well. Good luck!
its not more or less O2 due to temp fluctuations
its down to air density and compression
cold air is good for the car, not because it contains more oxygen  but because more volume can be compressed in the cylinder when compared against warmer air.
more volume of cold air = better and bigger bang = more power
Thank you Saul, oxygen is oxygen.

Have you tried using brake cleaner, could be dirt in the things, could also be a stone caught in the pads. Or a driveshaft/CV problem?
Thank you Saul, oxygen is oxygen.
you know that the atmosphere isn't pure oxygen tho......

Ok fair 1!!! Maybee i errrm got me wires crossed somewhere down the line!!!! God why did my parents have to drop me at birth!! DOH!!!
Anyway just make sure you get a good cold air feed.
try going to powerflow and getting an exhaust built custom to your car. they will build it exactly to your requirements and they are a good price as well

Mentioning Powerflow usually generates lots of negative comments from previous bad experiences.

Found a stockest of the remus backbox you said you had difficulty finding a cat back pipe. According to TSR you can use a supersprint pipe.
Also how easy was it to fit the MK3 wheels on your MKII??. Also how much are they??.

I bought a Supersprint centre pipe and it didn't fit at all, it was the wrong bore and also the wrong length and the most shockingly bad quality that I had ever seen. Noone else seems to have had probs with Supersprint though so I guess I was just unlucky.
Mk3 wheels bolt straight on no probs. I picked mine up for a bargain £160 with brand new P Zero Nero tyres. There's normally some available in the for sale section.
The noise could be a ball joint, are you getting any understeer when turning?
does it have genuine seat pads on cos ive previously had ferodo on and they didnt fit great and can tap or rumble a bit! :)
