The subwoofer preout on Alpines - is it filtered? In other words can you just feed it to an amp without a filter and then straight to a sub?

Yes it is filtered.
If you're lloking at a certain model (i.e. the one I'm selling :)), then it is adjustable as well. I think from memory, the settings are 80Hz, 100Hz and 150Hz

my alpine does Low pass and High pass filter adjust at these settings-you press and hold "AF" on mine to bring up this menu.

most amps have in built filters on them now, like my big DLS jobbies in the boot :)

Not filtered by default but many have a x-over setting. I think most new alpines have a crossover with a couple of settings.

Oh and most decent amps have filters...

All my Genesis ones do... :cloud9:

Asking for a friend who has an alpine and I have a very old kenwood amp without filters. Thanks for the info!
