View Full Version : Tuning options
I'm sure its been asked before but looking to get a tuning box for my TDI 110 however looking at ebay there seem to be 3 mail suppliers what the general feel about these in terms of quality of goods and results obtained. Ones I've come across are
http://speed-buster.moonfruit.com
http://www.mrhoot.com/
http://www.tdi-tuning.ag.vu
All is getting a bit confused so any feedback would be great on which you used and what they are like.
thanks

a few of us have TD performance ones - i had mine for 18 months no probs excellent gains
for £285 with 2 year guarantee.
hmm ok heres what i found (as i was looking at the same stuff as you a few months ago) :-
The first one is the same as ther box i have got, it does the job ok, needs a little tweaking to get it setup right, but its just a turn of a screw. Oh and they dont supply you with a splicer for the MAF wire to connect to so you have to supply your own.
The second one (dragon) i have no experiences of, but from what i can see this is a slightly simpler box as it does have the additional MAF wire.
The third one... AVOID big time, i read through all their text on the site which is converted from another language so doesnt read well but anyway the gist of it is is that these DONT HAVE TUV certification and hence havent passed any safety standard, TUV is the german equivelent of the British safety tag cant remember the name at the mo, but basically dont get this box, they are too cheap and dont carry any certifications.
As orange mentioned the TDperformance ones have been proven by a couple of people on here to give good results but then you pay that little extra for them.

I have the box from the third web^site. Not sure why Ssstew is so sure of himself regarding this box as its fantastic and the power gains are very impressive.
There is no TUV cert but all the power gains are within VAG tolerances, I know this as I was in Germany discussing this topic with the company.
Try it if you have a PD 130 or above and you will not regret it. My friend has had his for nearly 2 years and there has been no problems.
Good luck with whatever you choose.

Sry mate I read to quickly your thread and did'nt realise you have the 110 motor.
I honestly can't give any advice on this as I have no experience. The box's from the company I bought for sure produce better gains only with the PD engines.
Good luck mate. (make sure you are 110 % before you buy whichever box you choose, I spent nearly 3 months doing loads of research and found out loads of interesting stuff. Tuning a "PD" TDI can be very cheap and safe to modify with huge power gains)
